BGVS

Since 1993 Beijing Global Village School (BGVS), or also known as 地球村 (Diqiu Cun, Di Qiu Cun), has been operating in the Haidian district of Beijing, China. BGVS is located near universities such as Tsinghua University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Peking University and many other univerisities. Through continues efforts, the school has begun to take shape. It has a campus of 2,600 square meters, more than 50 classrooms of all sizes, as well as service establishments such as computer rooms, libraries, self-study rooms, copy rooms, etc. to provide a convenient and friendly atmosphere for its students. BGVS has also won extensive praises from participants of all countries and was awarded the title of advanced unit with “Self-discipline and Integrity” by the Board of Education in Haidian District, Beijing.

BGVS specializes in providing an intensified language training for foreigners who want to learn Chinese. BGVS provides courses from beginner to advanced levels of mandarin speakers to work on pronunciation and tones and help the student every step of the way. BGVS also provides painting courses, reading and grammar courses, business courses and HSK progams.

The BGVS teaching staff teaching of teachers and experts with years of experience and a passion for teaching. Each educator has received thorough training in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and is officially certified.

BGVS utilizes an integrated teaching system with coordinated curriculum, teaching methods and textbooks authored by experts from the world-renowned Beijing Language and Culture University and other universities. BGVS abandons the test-oriented teaching mode, and puts great emphasis on intensive speaking and listening exercises throughout the teaching process. BGVS uses simulated every-day situations as the main teaching approach, enabling students to learn quickly and in a relaxed manner that is immediately applicable outside the classroom. BGVS also provides students with personalized services and diversified teaching methods, such as one-to-one, small-sized classes, multimedia and interactive features, and choice of class time, so as to meet the needs of different students.

Full Immersion

We value after-class activities as part of education. During the activities, students have opportunities to practice and reinforce what they have learnt in the classroom. Therefore, NSC organizes several after-class activities during the week and a tour over the weekend, aiming to give students a full immersion environment to learn Mandarin Chinese. We also organize language exchanges for our students.

Flexibility

Because students often need to balance their studies with other pursuits such as work or travel, BGVS offers flexible class hours, program lengths, and start dates that can accommodate any request.
