Hello! Can you please state your name and current occupation?

My name is Kristi I am originally from Hong Kong but now live in Colorado and am a full time student.

Why did you want to go to China, now?

I am actually part Chinese so I feel studying Chinese is really important because it is part of my roots and who I am. Also, China is growing rapidly so when I apply for jobs or college this experience will be very beneficial for me.

Why did you want to study Chinese now?

Why not study Chinese in Beijing? It is the best place to do it; there is no other place I would choose to study Chinese.

How did you begin your search to find study abroad immersion program and how did you hear about/discover NSC?

I discovered Next Step China through the internet by searching for study abroad program in Beijing.

Why did you Choose NSC?

The reason I choose Next Step China was because they made me feel very welcome coming to Beijing. I was really impressed by the professionalism that was involved with the process, if I had any questions they would reply fast.

What do you think of our website?

The website was easy to navigate through and if I had questions the website has all of the information I needed.

What were your goals in choosing the program you selected with NSC?

My goal in choosing the program was to find something that would best be suited for me and my level of Mandarin. I wanted a challenging program. I choose Next Step China’s Year-Round Accelerated Tutoring Program because I didn’t want to sit in a classroom all day. With the tutoring program the tutor would come to my apartment and the program was personal. I felt no other company could offer that, except Next Step China.

What have you gained during your stay in China?

I gained a lot during my stay in China, there is too much to actually say but the three most important things would be my improved Mandarin, new friends and the memories that will last me forever.

How did you feel about NSC’s accommodations?

The apartment Next Step China put me in has been phenomenal and really comfortable and I have actually made it my home here and to say it is my home is very special to me. The location of the apartment is really convenient because it really close to a lot of places to hang out. We were also really close to the Next Step China offices which was great because if there was anything I needed I could contact them 24/7.

How did you feel about NSC’s tutoring program?

I loved the tutoring program, I had a great teachers. I felt the tutoring program was really unique because it was able to meet all of my needs such as learning to speak, read and write better. I also liked that the tutors would go at the pace I wanted to go out which was not too fast or too slow.

How do you feel about NSC’s service?

The service is excellent! The staff is so friendly if I needed anything they were always there for me. For example if I didn’t know where to go they were just a phone call away.

Did the Next Step China program and service meet or exceed your expectations?

I didn’t really know what to expect at first. I had heard of some illegal businesses that did provided the same services. However, experiencing China through Next Step China’s service exceeded my expectations. The accommodation and staff were amazing. The process was so smooth I enjoyed my stay in Beijing.

Would you recommend the program?

I would definitely recommend Next Step China just because the opportunities and the experience you get here is so different from any program you could be in.
