Why did you want to Study Chinese in China?

I think the best way to learn a language is in context, especially one as difficult as Mandarin.

Why did you want to study Chinese now?

I have always had a fasination with languages and with the rise of China I thought even a beginner level of Mandarin could be helpful both personally and professionally.

How did you begin your search to find a language program?

I asked several of the universities in London for recommendations, as well as friends who were living in China. Google and message boards were also helpful.

Why did you Choose NSC?

I chose NSC because they seemed to offer the best package for what I was looking for. I only had 3 months and wanted a customized program that would go a pace that was tailored to my needs and abilities. Additionally, I really liked the idea that they arranged everything from your airport pickup to mobile phone to apartment.

What have you gained during your stay in China?

I had an incredible time in China. I was able to enjoy a immersive experience in the dynamic Beijing. By the time I was finished I could easily order food, give directions to cab drivers and have simple conversations. Most of all I made some lasting friends that I hope to see again soon.

How did you feel about NSC’s accommodations?

My accomodations FAR exceeded my expectations. I had already been warned about accomodation in China, so was had prepared myself. The accomodations were clean, safe and modern not unlike many of the apartments that my expat friends were living it. It was a total relief and welcome surprise.

How did you feel about NSC’s tutoring program?

The tutoring program was excellent. Both of my tutors focused on different aspects of my learning. With hard work and the dedication of my tutors I was able to pass the HSK level 2 in 2 weeks. It was definitely not easy as it required a lot of discipline and review but my tutors helped me from a plan that helped me achieve my goals. Additionally, once my Mandarin had improved I really enjoyed the situational lessons at restaurants, museums and stores around Beijing.

How do you feel about NSC’s service?

NSC was great. They were always available for any questions or concerns. The staff made sure that you felt comfortable and happy and ensured that will you were under their care that you felt like family.

Did NSC meet or exceed your expectations?

Exceeded every one of my expectations.

Would you recommend the program?

Definitely, the best language course that I have taken.
