Tai Chi exercises 2x a week – In order to reduce stress, Next Step China makes sure that you get your weekly dose of Tai Chi exercises, a soft form of martial arts that bring about a state of mental calm and clarity to anyone who understands and participates in this exercise. This is an excellent experience for coping with the stresses of life!

Ballroom Dancing – Some people are familiar with ballroom dancing while others still don’t know how to dance ballroom.  Local Chinese are gathered in parks all over Beijing dancing to ballroom and local Chinese music.  Next Step China makes it possible for you to join in on the fun.

Chinese Cooking Classes – As well as the basic Chinese dumpling making lessons which are a regular part of Next Step China activities, Chinese cooking classes are also arranged so that you can learn about Chinese ingredients and prepare a variety of simple Chinese recipes during your stay in China.

Chinese Foot Massages 2x a week – China is known for its infamous foot massages after a long day of exploring the city.  Next Step China wants you to experience how it’s like to be pampered with a weekly Chinese foot massage.

Chinese Tea Tasting – Chinese tea is something that a lot of local Chinese enjoy.  One way to understand it is to try it yourself at Beijing’s tea street.

Chinese and International Wine Tasting – Next Step China arranges for Contemporary Program Participants to join wine tasting events in Beijing.  The events usually feature four to six wines from different regions.  The more you taste, the more you understand and enjoy wine.

Chinese and International Beer Tasting –Next Step China gives you the opportunity to taste various beer brands from China and other parts of the globe. You will have no excuse for missing out on tasting China’s biggest beer brands and will know your own preferences, and what to order.

Chinese local eatery at 5 restaurants – Your wonderful laid back trip to China on our Contemporary Program would not be complete without experiencing the local restaurants in the city accompanied by someone local and knowledgeable. Next Step China will take you to some of the most popular local Chinese restaurants in the area.

Art District Tour – – Next Step China takes you on an art appreciation tour to China’s growing art and cultural community in Beijing. Designed by East German architects in the early 1950’s, the area provides a view of the past, present and future as “New China” emerges.
