Standard Program Features

All of the Next Step China university, intensive tutoring, HSK and executive programs include all listed features mentioned below. If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Luxury or Dorm Accommodations

Next Step China stands out from its competitors by providing safe, luxury accommodation (See pictures here!) which is maintained to a high standard. Participants who choose the Luxury accommodation option will be housed in a secure complex with 24 hour security and key pass entry. All our accommodation meets Western standards which are higher than typical Chinese standards. Programs fees include all utilities such as Electricity, Gas, Water and High-Speed Wireless Internet access.

Participants choosing Double or Single Room dorm accommodations will be housed in an on campus dormitory. Each university has different layouts and bathroom styles of the dorms.

IMPORTANT NOTE*** This feature is not included in the price of the Teach English in China, Internship in China and Volunteer in China program instead a 7 night hotel stay and accommodation search assistance is provided.

Cleaning Services

We provide a once a week cleaning for all of the NSC apartments. Our Cleaning Services also include one set of bedding materials, such as sheets, pillows and all cleaning supplies. All you need to concentrate on is improving your Mandarin.

Travel and Medical Insurance

Next Step China provides all of its participants with comprehensive Travel and Medical Insurance. Important features of the policy includes full coverage of medical evacuation, doctor visits, stay at public and private hospitals as well as a personal liability and travel policy.

Tuition and Books

Tuition on all our Student Programs includes course materials such as books for the comprehensive, speaking and listening classes. Our programs include two or three class trips to the Great Wall and other historical places (Universities often change the trip). Sometimes CD's are included with the book. If not, we will be more than happy to help you get the CD and other material to help you improve your mandarin.

For our specialized Executive and Intensive Tutoring Program we include books that will fit your level. We also create lesson plans that are individually designed around what you want to study. These are Next Step China's most effective and interactive programs, tailor-made for you. Find out more about our Program!

Airport Transfers

Part of Next Step China's service is to make you feel welcome the moment you arrive in China. Our driver and a staff member will be waiting to greet you at the airport. The car will chauffeur you to your apartment no matter what time of day you arrive to Beijing. A Next Step China staff member will also deliver you to the airport at the time of your departure.

Welcome and Farewell Dinner

Welcome to China! In the first week of your arrival you will be invited out to dinner by us to meet other Next Step China participants.

NSC Mobile Phone with SIM

Next Step China provides a touch screen Chinese Mobile phone with the capability to insert 2 SIM cards so that you can still use your phone number from home. Our mobile phones have an ultra large touch screen with the capability of handwritten and key board input. It also includes a high definition camera, supports mp3/mp4 play, TF card extension, and Bluetooth function.

Our staff will give you the phone as soon as you arrive to Beijing programmed with all of our contact information and credits to use immediately.

Beijing's historical and cultural locations provide travelers with the opportunity to take a peek at the history of the world with artifacts and towns that are more than 5,000 years old! Our tours are for those who want to travel in groups with our tour guides. We will provide pick up and drop off service. Below is a list of places where we will be traveling locally.

For any visitor to China, perhaps the most attractive features of Shanghai are its international influences through its museums, galleries and restaurants. Language Exchange Partner

Upon request, we provide a language exchange program which helps students find a partner to help them practice their mandarin. However, keep in mind that the Chinese language partners also expect you to help them with their English or whatever your major language is. This service provides additional opportunities for students to put into practice what they have learnt. It is not a substitute for our tutoring program; however, it can help you improve your confidence speaking with someone who is not a tutor or a teacher.

Travel Notes

Before coming to China, participants of the Next Step China programs are curious to know what they need to bring before beginning their exciting program in China. Our fully comprehensive travel notes will cover questions such as safety, ways to get cheap airfare, things to expect, accommodation and money issues will be addressed in the travel notes provided prior to the departure of the participant.

City Guidebook

Our program includes a useful Guidebook which will serve as an introduction and background for participants in our programs. It includes information on the history, culture, activities, and other forms of entertainment in Beijing and provides suggestions on places to go for sight-seeing and excursions. The book will also help participants get the most out of their stay in Beijing or Shanghai.

Chinese Phrasebook

This phrasebook is for those who are interested in having a crash course in communicating in Chinese. It cannot take the place of formal lessons but it will definitely help participants get by.

NSC book bag

Why bring that old book bag from home when Next Step China provides you with a light and versatile book bag to take to school or use throughout China. Our book bags are comfortable and convenient, with adjustable, padded shoulder straps as well as MP3 and cell phone storage. The book bag is available for students who are participating in any of the Student programs with a University.

NSC Briefcase

Book bags aren't for everyone so Next Step China will provide a briefcase so that you can carry your studying materials and laptop to school, the cafe or a friend's house for study sessions. Briefcases are provided for Year-Round Intensive Tutoring Program and all Specialized Programs.
