Welcome to China! In the first week of your arrival you will be invited out to dinner by us to meet other Next Step China participants.

Great Wall

Don't miss out on one of the greatest travel icons of China and wonders of the world. The Great Wall of China is a must see!

Forbidden City

Once home to the great emperors of China and off limits to commoners the city is now open for you to explore how the emperors lived throughout the many dynasties of China.

Tiananmen Square

View from Tiananmen Square the famous picture of Chairman Mao and its historical surrounding monuments.

Summer Palace

Enjoy a beautiful 360 degree scenery of Beijing from the top of a Buddhist temple at the Summer Palace. The palace's gardens and lake is also one of the most scenic spots in Beijing to go to.

Temple of Heaven

Come to gawk at the architectural masterpiece or bust out some Tai Chi, this Temple of Heaven is a great place for both.

Botanical Gardens

Beijing's botanical gardens is a shrine of over 3,000 plant species that were gifted to China by many countries. View the changing scenery of the garden as in the spring hundreds of Japan's infamous cherry blossoms surround the park with beautiful red, pink and white flowers. Note: Not recommended for the allergy prone.

Military Museum

Want to see what a real tank looks like? How about a rocket or Sun Tsu's Art of War authentic journals? It is all here in Beijing's Military Musuem!

Wangfujing (Snack Street)

Want to know what scorpion or snake tastes like? Wangfujing is home to the most exotic snacks in China.

Trip to Shanghai (OPTIONAL)
