PERSONAL BELONGINGS
LOSS OF MONEY (StudentCare Plus only)
Conditions:
(C5.1) An Excess of $100/€90/£60 is payable on all claims under this section.
(C5.2) It is a condition of payment under this section that all losses or incidents, including damage attributable to theft or vandalism (but not including Accidental damage, unless it is the result of theft or vandalism), be reported to the local police or appropriate authority within 24 hours of discovery and that a written acknowledgement of the report be obtained from whoever produces it. Any loss of credit cards, traveller’s cheques or travel documents must be reported to the issuing authority within 24 hours of discovery of the loss and appropriate cancellation measures must be taken.
(C5.3) The maximum amount We will pay for theft or damage of any one item (including any attached or unattached accessories), or set or pair of items is $1,500/€1,350/£900 unless the item, set or pair of items has been specified on the policy and the additional premium paid. The limit for any item, set or pair of items is $5,400/€4,800/£3,200 with a maximum for all specified items $10,800/€9,500/£6,350.
(C5.4) You must take all reasonable precautions for the packaging, safety and supervision of any item(s) including but not limited to laptop computers, portable electronic property, personal effects, travel documents, money and credit cards.
(C5.5) You must not leave any items in an unlocked or Unattended premise or Public Place, in any unlocked vehicle at any time, or in a vehicle overnight.
(C5.6) You must secure laptop computers and portable electronic property in a locked premise, safe or strongroom, or out of sight in a locked vehicle and carry such items as personal hand luggage at all other times.
We are entitled to:
(C5.7) Repair or replace items, or pay the replacement cost of items according to the Indemnity Values.

Theft of or damage to:
(B5.1) Your Personal Belongings resulting from a specific incident which is completely beyond Your control.
(B5.2) Your laptop computer or portable electronic property which You use during the Period of Insurance (including papers, specifications, manuscripts and stationery to their face value only).

(B5.3) Currency notes, traveller’s cheques or cash which You are carrying, resulting from an Unforeseen specific incident which is completely beyond Your control.

We will not pay for:
(E5.1) Items mislaid or forgotten.
(E5.2) Scratching or breakage of fragile or brittle items. (Exclusion does not apply to photographic, video equipment or binoculars.)
(E5.3) Reinstatement, replacement or damage to any electronic data or software.
(E5.4) Items if You are unable to support Your claim with original receipts and/or valuations (translated at Your expense, if necessary).
(E5.5) Eye examinations required to replace damaged or stolen optical aids.
(E5.6) Loss of data or any Consequential Loss.
(E5.7) Losses due to depreciation or devaluation of currency.
Damage to or loss of:
(E5.8) Items shipped under a freight agreement, sent by a postal or courier service, or purchased through a website, while in transit.
(E5.9) Household furniture or household appliances being used by You for domestic use and non-portable business property, computer or electronic equipment.
(E5.10) Sporting equipment while in use, including but not limited to bicycles, surfboards, sailboards and boogie boards.
(E5.11) Damage arising from or caused by:
(a) wear and tear;
(b) deterioration;
(c) mechanical or electrical breakdown;
(d) atmospheric or climatic conditions;
(e) mould or fungus;
(f) insects, rodents or vermin; or
(g) any process involving cleaning or repair.
(E5.12) Confiscation or destruction by Customs or any other authority.
Theft of:
(E5.13) Bank securities, gold, silver or precious stones (other than personal jewellery).
(E5.14) Items left Unattended in a vehicle overnight.
(E5.15) Cameras, video recorders or jewellery left Unattended in a vehicle at any time.
