MEDICAL EXPENSES

Conditions:

(C1.1) You may claim under this section for Medical Expenses incurred from the start of treatment for 12 months, or until it is medically confirmed that treatment is no longer necessary, whichever is the earlier, providing Your premium is paid and Your policy remains current. If You claim for medical treatment already completed and You subsequently claim for a new course of treatment which is in no way connected with the original treatment, that subsequent claim will be regarded as a new claim.
(C1.2) Any Inpatient/Daycare treatment must be Pre-authorised in writing by Us or Interglobal Assistance. If Pre authorised We will settle any costs agreed by Us directly with the treatment provider.

In the event of Illness or Injury sustained by You We will pay for:

(B1.1) Medical Expenses
Limits: All plans to Annual Maximum
Co-insurance/Excess: StudentCare Total – 20% Co-insurance applies (minimum $50/€45/£30).

(B1.2) Private Hospital treatment
Limits: All plans to Annual Maximum
Co-insurance/Excess: StudentCare Total – 20% Co-insurance applies (minimum $50/€45/£30).

(B1.3) Public Hospital treatment
Limits: All plans to Annual Maximum

(B1.4) Prescription Medicine
Limits: All plans to Annual Maximum

(B1.5) Ambulance Services or medical transport services where it is deemed medically necessary for admission to Hospital or for Emergency Medical Treatment.
Limits: All plans to Annual Maximum

(B1.6) Rehabilitation or occupational therapy services
Costs of necessary rehabilitation or occupational therapy services, as prescribed by a Doctor, intended to allow You a more independent lifestyle than would otherwise happen following an Illness or Accident.
Limits: StudentCare Total $2,700/€2,400/£1,600
StudentCare Plus $5,400/€4,800/£3,200

(B1.7) Alternative Medical Treatment, following referral from Your treating Doctor, provided by acupuncturists, osteopaths, chiropractors, homeopaths or podiatrists.
Limits: All plans $545/€480/£320
Co-insurance/Excess: StudentCare Total – 20% Co-insurance applies (minimum $50/€45/£30).

(B1.8) Psychiatric Care
If You are referred by a registered Doctor or Specialist We will pay for the necessary charges incurred for services by a qualified psychologist or psychiatrist for the provision of health services.
Limits: StudentCare Total $750/€675/£450
StudentCare Plus $1,500/€1,350/£900

(B1.9) Maternity Services
StudentCare Total:
Emergency maternity care due to complications to pregnancy/childbirth following Injury or Illness where a medical practitioner considers it to be an emergency.
Limit: StudentCare Total $5,000/€4,500/£3,000
StudentCare Plus:
(a) Emergency maternity care due to complications to pregnancy/childbirth following Injury or Illness where a medical practitioner considers it to be an emergency.
(b) Routine Maternity Services, where conception occurs 60+ days after the Commencement Date of Your policy.
Limit: StudentCare Plus $10,000/€9,000/£6,000

(B1.10) Return Home Cover
Providing You return to Your Country of Origin (only) on a temporary basis for a period not exceeding 3 months You are covered for all Section 1 benefits under Your chosen policy type (see Section 1, MEDICAL EXPENSES), and for Loss of Tuition Fees/Deposits benefits under Your chosen policy type (see Section 2, MEDICAL EVACUATION, REPATRIATION, CANCELLATION, LOSS OF TUITION FEES/DEPOSITS). You must have a flight booked and paid (or a confirmed itinerary) for return to Your Country of Study which is scheduled for departure within 3 months of departing Your Country of Study.

Limits (Loss of Tuition Fees/Deposits): All plans $16,000/€14,000/£9,500

(B1.11) Emergency Dental Services
(a) Services for treatment following Accidental and violent Injury to sound and natural teeth.
(b) The initial consultation for the relief of sudden and acute pain using antibiotics, temporary dressings or extraction to restore dental function.

StudentCare Plus $1,100/€975/£650
We will not pay for the costs of:
(E1.1) Hospital private room accommodation unless Pre authorised in writing by Interglobal Assistance.
(E1.2) Medications, drugs or other treatments not prescribed by Your treating Doctor or Specialist.
(E1.3) Cosmetic (including alopecia), elective or plastic surgery (except where necessary as a result of an Injury).
(E1.4) Routine dental treatment, elective treatment, oral surgery or normal maintenance. Normal maintenance includes but is not limited to any: dental work resulting from lack of regular dental maintenance and/or hygiene; root canal procedures; fillings; scaling and polishing; titanium implants, wisdom teeth extractions, restoration work; caps; crowns; precious metal costs or pins and fittings; periodontal work; dentures; replacement due to loss of dental bridges; cosmetic dentistry.
(E1.5) Treatment for infertility, sterilization, termination of pregnancy, birth control, or sexual dysfunction.
(E1.6) Treatment received as a result of engaging in any Hazardous activity/sport.
(E1.7) Any Inpatient/Daycare procedure or treatment in any country without written Pre approval from Interglobal Assistance.
(E1.8) Treatment received as a result of any Pre-existing Medical Condition.
(E1.9) Treatment by a medical practitioner, Doctor, Specialist, consultant or nurse who is any way related to You.
(E1.10) Sleep apnoea, snoring, sleep-related disorders, or insomnia.
(E1.11) Breast reduction or enlargement (for any reason).
(E1.12) Treatment in quarantine, an isolation ward/unit or similar establishment.
(E1.13) Obesity treatment, special diet, weight control, health screening, vaccinations, children’s food, baby supplies, vitamins or minerals or organic supplements, or products that can be purchased without a Doctor’s prescription, including but not limited to mouthwash, toothpaste, antiseptic lozenges or sprays, shampoo and sunscreen.
(E1.14) Completion of medical claim forms and medical reports by anyone.
