Advanced Payments/Loss of Tuition Fees and Cancellation

(B2.3) Cancellation and Loss of Tuition Fees/Deposits
(a) Additional travel or accommodation expenses, or lost tuition fees (to the original fare level or class/standard of service), if Unforeseen circumstances disrupt Your non recoverable, unused portion of travel, accommodation or tuition arrangements. Those Unforeseen circumstances being:

(1) the Unforeseen death, sudden Serious Illness or Injury, or Accident to You;
(2) the Unforeseen death, sudden Serious Illness or Injury requiring Hospitalisation of a Relative, or travelling companion (the Relative must be a permanent resident of and living in Your Country of Origin and aged 074 and We will not pay if their death or Illness is a result of a Pre existing Medical Condition);
(3) Unforeseen strike, riot or civil commotion or Hijacking causing cancellation or disruption of Public Transport;
(4) severe weather conditions, natural disasters, or motor vehicle, aircraft or railway Accidents which directly disrupt or delay scheduled transport services of pre-booked travel
arrangements; or
(5) the theft of Your passport or travel documentation.

(b) Travel agent cancellation fees up to $545/€480/£320 or 10% of the total value of the cancelled journey, whichever is the lesser amount.
(c) Non-refundable amounts paid in advance for Your travel and accommodation arrangements.
Limits (Cancellation): StudentCare Total $6,000/€4,500/£3,500
StudentCare Plus $6,500/€6,000/£4,000
Limits (Loss of Tuition Fees/Deposits): All plans $16,000/€14,000/£9,500

We will not pay for:

(E2.1) Any costs for any expenditure unless written Pre-approval has been obtained from Interglobal Assistance.
(E2.2) Any costs if You refuse to follow the directions or advice of either Us or Interglobal Assistance.
(E2.3) Medical Evacuation following an approved claim under (B1.9) (see Section 1, MEDICAL EXPENSES, Maternity Services) unless a Doctor has certified that local facilities are not adequate and that a surgical procedure is necessary to safeguard the life of You or Your unborn child.
(E2.4) Costs resulting directly or indirectly from any circumstance which You are aware of before We issue Your certificate of insurance which may cause disruption of, delay to, or cancellation of Your journey.
(E2.5) Additional travel and accommodation expenses for the purpose of resuming a journey after You have returned to Your Country of Origin.
(E2.6) Additional travel or accommodation expenses for periods where no prepaid travel or accommodation arrangements have been made.
(E2.7) Carrier-caused delays or carrier-rescheduled transport services for pre booked travel.
(E2.8) Claims arising from changes to Your travel plans or Your travelling companion’s unwillingness to commence or complete an arranged journey.
(E2.9) Any Inpatient/Daycare treatment without written Pre approval from Interglobal Assistance
(E2.10) Claims arising from the Financial Default of any provider (including but not limited to study or education providers, travel agents, accommodation providers, carriers or transport operators.
(E2.11) Claims arising from cancellation of Your tuition by any education authority.
(E2.12) Claims arising from cancellation if You have not taken suitable steps to travel by the most reasonable alternative method or route, or if You do not accept any alternative method of travel or route provided by Your carrier, travel agent or tour operator.
(E2.13) Costs if You are travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner.
(E2.14) Costs if You travel to seek or receive medical treatment outside of Your Country of Study.
(E2.15) Costs arising from Your failure to obtain the required or correct travel documentation.
(E2.16) Costs if You have failed to allow sufficient time to reach Your departure point.
