After you have decided on the type of NGO you would like to volunteer through Next Step China, please go to APPLY NOW, fill in the required and additional information needed and submit your application. Next Step China will contact you to confirm receipt of your application.

After receipt of your application we ask that you make a $250.00 USD REFUNDABLE* program deposit.

This fee will include the following:

1. Support throughout the application and interview process

2. Cover letter & resume assistance

3. Mock phone interview sessions

Please also send us the following supporting documents to Info@NextStepChina.orgfor your internship:

1. Copy of passport

2. Copy of latest diploma

3. Copy of latest transcript

4. Your CV or resume

5. Letter of recommendation from your supervisor or your university/professor

6. Letter as to why you should be chosen to volunteer with the specific organization. Keep in mind that Next Step China's objective is to macth skilled volunteers with NGO's that are in need of specific duties.

*Your deposit WILL be refunded if we are not able to find you a position. If we do find you an position and you accept the offer the deposit will no longer be refundable.

Once an NGO has expressed an interest and an offer has been made and accepted, you are required to make the remaining payment of the program fee. Please refer to the invoice sent by Next Step China’s corporate offices.

Next Step China will coordinate your program start date and will remain involved with you throughout the duration of the program to assure a mutually productive and successful experience.

Relax! One of our Next Step China staff members will greet you at the airport when you arrive to China.

NOTE:Applications and deposits must be submitted at least three months before the start date to provide ample time for you to apply for an F Visa and for the program coordinator to conduct evaluations and find suitable logistical and position for you. We highly encourage applicants to submit their applications well in advance of the date available to start the program to secure a reservation because slots for positions are competitive.
