The Next Step China Diversity Scholarship (Merit Based):

The lack of diversity among people studying in China is not simply due to a lack of funding. While providing more scholarships increases the accessibility for many students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study in China, we aim to increase the diversity among study abroad students. To be successful in this endeavor we must engage students in the process. That is why in addition to this scholarship we offer students the opportunity to take a China scholarship at NSC. The NSC Diversity Scholarship is awarded to students who have creative ideas about increasing the diversity of students travelling to China. If accepted, the applicant will receive a $1,000 USD scholarship to study in China, and will also intern in China, at NSC, as an integral part of our Diversity Committee. Applicants are asked to:

Read our Commitment to Diversity and Community Outreach pages;
Submit a 400 word essay or a short video to info@nextstepchina.org which answers the following question: How would you increase the number of students who have been historically under represented in study abroad? [We encourage you to be creative in your response.]

The NSC Enrichment Scholarship (Need-Based):

For over six years NSC has been committed to providing students with opportunities to study in China. This is why we created the NSC Enrichment Scholarship. If accepted, recipients will be awarded a $1,000 USD scholarship towards studying in China. Applicants are asked to:
